Welcome to San Genesio - the quiet and dreamy place above Bolzano.

In a sunny valley basin above Bolzano lies the small and charming village of San Genesio - Jenesien, whose municipality is composed of the neighbouring villages Afing, Flaas, Glaning and Nobls. In the middle of the village you can see the picturesque Gothic parish church, the patron saint of which is also Jenesien, St. Genesius.
The unique panorama of the village lends a unique charm to cultural events such as the popular hay festival or oenological and gastronomic weeks and invites many visitors to the village, especially in summertime.

The area around Jenesien, on the high plateau at the foot of the Tschögglberg mountain, is ideal all year round for numerous hikes and walks for the whole family. Go on a discovery tour to the ruins of Rafenstein Castle, from where you can admire a magnificent 360° panorama: In the east the Sarentine Alps, in the west the Adige Valley and in the valley the state capital Bolzano.
The fruit and vegetable plantations are also numerous, as are the picturesque vineyards. Typical farm products are milk from mountain farms, which also offer the famous "farm holiday".

In autumn, no one should miss the traditional "Törggelen": roasted chestnuts, new wine, South Tyrolean bacon, cabbage and dumplings are just a few of the typical South Tyrolean autumn specialities that are served in good company for lunch or dinner. The winter, however, invites you on the high plateau to enchanting winter hikes through the dense and idyllic larch forests, romantic rides in a carriage and entertaining tobogganing.
