In the middle of an idyllic, romantic vineyard and surrounded by charming cypress trees, is the small village of Tramin - the cradle of the "liquid gold", the traditional Gewürztraminer.

The facades of houses decorated with oriels, winding lanes, charming fountains and Mediterranean flair adorn the idyllic village of Tramin. In addition to the historical village museum, which informs about local history and customs such as the Egetmann parade at Carnival, Tramin's churches bear witness to the town's historical significance: while the tower of the Gothic parish church with 93 metres presents the highest church tower in South Tyrol, you can find the oldest Romanesque frescoes of the German-speaking area in the small church of St. Jakob in Kastelaz. Imaginative mythical creatures with dog heads and fish fins adorn the bases and monsters, sea snakes and mermaids dominate the walls and ceilings of the church.

But the historic town in the South Tyrolean Unterland is certainly not as sleepy as it might seem at first glance, since Tramin is home to one of the world's best white wines, the Gewürztraminer. Throughout the year, numerous events are held around the "liquid gold", from lively street and alley festivals, culinary highlights to international meetings.
The varied landscape around Tramin invites you to numerous activities: The Mediterranean panorama, dominated by dreamy vineyards, cypresses, olive and lemon trees, invites you to pleasant walks and bicycle tours along the picturesque paths or to the nearby Lake Caldaro. The alpine contrast to this is the Monte Roen (2,000 m high), which rises above the village and entices passionate hikers and hikers to climb its peak along various paths. Once they have managed this, the adventurers can enjoy a fabulous view of the mountains of the entire region, from the breathtaking Dolomites to the imposing Ortler.

A further highlight is the adventure swimming pool, which with a water surface of 1,300 square meters, a waterfall, climbing rocks and many other things, seduces its visitors on hot summer days to a refreshing jump into the cool water.
