Fanes-Senes-Braies natural park

The Fanes-Senes-Braies natural park, part of the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage, shows an incredible variety of its vegetation and landscapes.


The Fanes-Senes-Braies natural park is part of the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage. It is also called "the shining face of the Dolomites" because of the rich variety of its vegetation and landscapes, with steep cliffs rising at the edge of the park and protecting a large area of pastures and colorful plateaus.

A hike through the natural park will take you to the mysterious places of the legend of the Kingdom of the Fanes. The saga, which is considered the Ladin national epic poem, tells of the expansion of the mythical Fanes empire and its fall, of the princesses Moltina and Dolasilla, of the evil wizard Spina de Mul and of the fearless hero Ey de Net.

- Coming from Innsbruck: take the A 13 and the A 22 toll motorway and exit at Bressanone/Brixen, following the signs to Brunico/Bruneck along the Val Pusteria/Pustertal road as far as San Lorenzo/St.Lorenzen. Follow the signs to Val Badia/Gadertal

- Coming from Verona-Bolzano: take the A 22, exit at Bressanone/Brixen and continue as above
