They’re back:



Almost exactly 20 years ago, on January 26, 2005, the production “Leo & Luis”—which has since become an absolute classic of local cabaret—premiered at the Theater in der Altstadt in Merano. In the years that followed, a real hype developed around the two antiheroes and their very unique life and success story in the jungle of folk music. After more than 150 sold-out performances and around 30,000 enthusiastic spectators, Lukas Lobis and Thomas Hochkofler finally pulled the plug in 2010 at the Kabarettgarten Schloss Kallmünz—one last time their hit songs such as “Wenn das Bergfeuer zuckt” or “Wie ein erbrochenes Siegel” rang out.



Nearly 15 years later, the time had finally come: in November 2024, Leo & Luis made their comeback. Lukas Lobis and Thomas Hochkofler presented the updated version of the comedy hit—a thrilling mix of well-proven classics and completely new stories and tales from life. Fan favorites like “Die Kindheit ist der größte Schatz” or “Die Feuer, wer kennt sie nicht?” remain, complemented by new songs such as “In Nogarole Rocca” or “Das Lied der Vergänglichkeit”. Musical direction is once again in the hands of Marco Facchin, while text and direction are once more entrusted to the experienced duo Gabi Rothmüller and Alexander Liegl.



One thing is certain: the past 15 years have not gone by without leaving their mark on the two heroes of folk music—and Leo & Luis have more than one story to tell or song to sing…
