Garni Casa al Sole
The B&B Casa al Sole has twelve suite rooms across two floors. Some are small, and none of them have a TV. A hearty breakfast will be offered, without speaking of or promising beautiful views. The owners are from Ortisei, they are Ladin and they are citizens of the world. They know the paths, the roads, even the uncharted territories. They love cycling, walking, skiing, and respecting nature. They have a passion for good drinks and food. They speak five to six languages. They are rooted here but, just like roots, stretch out, looking for outsiders to come and keep us company. They have renovated their old home by preserving what has always been there: doors, windows, floors and much more. Whatever is new stands out visually as well as materially from what already existed. They have created a fracture which, at the end of the day, unites different elements. Past and present amalgamate into the future. They are aesthetes and want people who visit us to feel good. The renovation is based on three principles: slowness, calmness, serenity.
The ambition of the owners is to make you feel good when you discover how the building’s exterior plaster was created using sandstone from Val Gardena, creating a spectrum of colours ranging from brown and white to red. They want to make you feel at home by making you the light of the home, embracing you in its warmth. They want to capture your attention when explaining that they used crude steel, larch wood, natural stone, clay, felt, and gravel to give this building of theirs a new life, deciding not to exaggerate with the colours. They believe the materials themselves are the colours.
The owners of Casa al Sole cannot wait to welcome you with open arms and say hello to you!
