Landhaus Leonhard

A House at Altitude – Space for Quiet, Nature and Time

At 1,300 metres above sea level, secluded in the Trudner Horn Nature Park, this house is set in a place that escapes the pace of everyday life. No through road, no visitor traffic. Instead: forest, light, and clear air. Even in midsummer, it stays pleasantly cool.

The house comfortably accommodates up to 8 guests. Three bedrooms are furnished with double beds, on the upper floor there are two single beds. Two bathrooms – one with a shower, one with a bathtub – ensure a relaxed daily routine even at full occupancy. Bed linen and towels are provided for all guests.

The rooms are functional, spacious, and deliberately designed. In the colder months, a masonry stove gives the central living area a special warmth and atmosphere. The kitchen is fully equipped; cooking can be done on the wood stove or an electric stove. For baking, a fire must be lit – I will show you how upon arrival. Basic supplies such as spices, oils, sugar, etc. are available – guests only need to purchase their own food.

Nature Right at the Doorstep

Hikes start directly from the house. Easy trails lead through forests and meadows to viewpoints, alpine pastures, and a high moor that demonstrates the exceptional ecological diversity of the Trudner Horn Nature Park. The region is particularly rich in flora and fauna – attentive visitors experience nature without staging.

On warm days, a forest lake (1h by bike) offers swimming opportunities. Many guests appreciate that activities are not imposed but arise naturally.

A good restaurant (2 Falstaff forks) is within walking distance and known for its authentic regional cuisine. Those who prefer to stay at the house can use the spacious terrace for long evenings, grilling, playing games, or conversations over a good glass of wine.

Seclusion – Digital Detox

The nearest shop is in the valley, about 13 kilometres away, along a winding road.

There is no mobile reception at the house. Wi-Fi is available for essential contact, messages, and organisational needs, streaming on one device, the upload is very slow.

Vehicles can be parked directly in front of the house. Bicycles can be stored in the cellar. Additionally, all guests receive a South Tyrol Guest Card, granting free use of all public transport.

Personally Hosted, with History

The ensemble, consisting of the house and the neighbouring chapel, has been in family ownership for generations. This continuity shapes the place: nothing is interchangeable, much has grown over time. I personally welcome every guest and remain available for questions, otherwise maintaining a discreet presence.

Notes

Dogs are welcome. As experiences vary greatly, a cleaning surcharge of 150.- applies when staying with a dog.

The local tourist tax is 2,50.- per person per night for guests aged 14 and over.
