Prato Piazza Lodge
Fought over during the First World War (still shown by the remains of the old emplacements), the Prato Piazza is now a perfect starting point for hikes in the Fanes-Sennes-Braies Nature Park, both in summer and winter. Many hiking paths begin from the Prato Piazza Lodge’s front door. Nordic walking fans will be spoilt for choice! For those who love to climb a bit higher, there are various guided climbing options on the rock faces of the Dolomites. Cyclists are spoilt for choice as well: the Dolomiti Superbike trails lead directly to the Prato Piazza Lodge.
In winter, the Prato Piazza becomes the perfect location for cross-country skiers thanks to the seven kilometres of cross-country trails. But that’s not all: the Prato Piazza Lodge, bathed in sun and easily reachable by car (in fact it adjoins the Prato Piazza car park), serves as an excellent starting point for skiing, sledging or snowshoeing enthusiasts. And so it is impossible to get bored when staying at the Prato Piazza Lodge!
Even more so if you choose to stay for a few days in the welcoming double room with shower and toilet facilities. And you will certainly not feel hungry either: in the stube, a traditional South Tyrolean wood-panelled lounge, guests can enjoy a mixture of homemade local dishes and Italian cooking. A joy for the palate! Finally, to enjoy a few hours of relaxation you just have to go to the solarium area on the terrace in front of the lodge!
