Similaunhütte

An ideal starting point for ski tours and hikes in the Oetztal Alps - Base E5 European long distance path. Opening times: from the beginning of March to the middle of April, and the middle of June to the beginning of October
The Similaun mountain hut was built by our family more than 100 years ago and is privately-owned. The Niederjoch pass between North and South Tyrol was already being used as a crossing at the time of ‘Ötzi’ the Iceman. Well-known for good food and excellent wines, the hut is a popular base for climbing the peaks, glacier and mountaineering courses and the classic round tour of the Ötztal valley. All the information you need for guided tours is available from Markus Pirpamer, the landlord of the hut and qualified certified mountain and ski guide.
