About Aldino

Discover the enchanting forest and meadow landscape, be inspired by old traditions, cultures and culinary specialities and embark on an adventurous journey through the "Grand Canyon" of South Tyrol.

Almost like in a fairy tale, the Göllersee lake glows and shines in the middle of the quiet forest and wide green meadows enjoy the warm sunbeams in Aldein - a small mountain village in the South Tyrolean lowlands, idyllically situated on the high plateau of the Reggelberg. Surrounded by a few hamlets and picturesque courtyards, the small village is made up of the villages of Aldein, Holen and Radein, which offer a splendid view of the surrounding and characteristic twin peaks of Weißhorn and Schwarzhorn
If you stray a little bit from this picturesque view, you can see that Aldein is really close to the abyss, because here a deep gorge runs through the imposing mountain world: The UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Dolomites, the Bletterbach (also known as the "Grand Canyon of South Tyrol") shows an impressive landscape between rubble, earth masses and rock, a real window of 40 million years of earth history, which along rusty brown, lime-white and clay-red furrows tells of the primordial power of nature and offers a view into the imposing mountain interior.

Meadows adorned with mountain flowers, dense dark forests and gentle alpine pastures invite you to numerous hiking and cycling tours, which lead you along various paths to the impressive viewpoints Rotwand and Burgstalleg and offer a breathtaking view of the Val d'Adige valley and the South Tyrolean lowlands.

Those interested in culture can find out about customs and traditions at the village museum in Aldein. Be inspired by sacred works of art from the Baroque or Rococo period, listen to the traditional stories of pilgrimages and worship of saints and learn how not only the people shaped the country, but also the people.
