Anniversary Concert of the Orchestra of Music Enthusiasts

With its autumn concert this year, the Orchestra of the Music Friends is breaking new ground. Instead of accompanying young soloists with classical pieces as usual, it is performing together with the South Tyrolean Beatles cover band "The Repeatles," delivering Beatles songs to the audience.

The pieces have been specially arranged for the orchestra by Ivan Marini. The overall direction is in the hands of conductor Michael Hillebrand, with Thomas Vonmetz hosting the evening.

Since 1963, the Orchestra of the Music Friends has been the only amateur orchestra in South Tyrol with regular rehearsal activities. It was founded by Prof. Hans Obkircher with the aim of giving interested amateur musicians (strings and wind players) the opportunity to participate in a symphony orchestra. Additionally, young vocal and instrumental soloists can gain concert experience through joint performances.
