The bestselling authors Sigrid Mahlknecht Ebner and Katharina Weiss have joined forces for the fourth time to record the life stories of South Tyrolean women in their latest book, *Strong Women • Moving Stories – South Tyrolean Women Tell Their Stories*.

Six women, born in the 1930s and 1940s, recount the highs and lows of their lives. War and the post-war period, marked by poverty, hunger and unemployment, shaped their childhood and youth. The stories deal with hard work, limited educational opportunities, exclusion, homesickness for their parents’ homes and the constraints of traditional patterns. Despite all the obstacles, the women demonstrate strength, consciously forge their own paths and ultimately experience the region’s social resurgence following these difficult years.
