Born in Chicago, artistically shaped in New York, and now based in Vienna, Chanda Rule blends gospel with her other musical influences. Her music breathes the warmth of classic soul, lives through jazz sophistication, and surprises with up-to-date grooves in a vintage outfit.

“Not Your Mama” is more than just a band name - it’s a statement: musically independent, stylistically diverse, and always profound. The songs tell stories - poetic, personal, sometimes political – which is no surprise, as besides music Chanda also studied journalism and runs her own blog reflecting her passion for language and storytelling.
