About the event

Invitation to the Concert: Lullay – Paths to the Manger
Conductor: Dominik Bernhard
Organist: Manuel Schiabello

The program explores paths to the manger, which are simultaneously paths of love, divided into four sections: Waiting, Acceptance, Praise, and Devotion. It features a cappella pieces, solo organ works, and Christmas carols accompanied by instruments. The musical journey spans from the early Baroque with Heinrich Schütz to contemporary compositions by Karl Jenkins and John Rutter.

Südtiroler Vokalensemble

Founded in 1986, the Südtiroler Vokalensemble has consistently aimed to perform high-quality choral music from various musical eras. The ensemble has an active concert history, particularly in South Tyrol. Its singers, many of whom are choir directors, music teachers, or vocal instructors themselves, come from all parts of South Tyrol.
In March 2025, the Südtiroler Vokalensemble will join the Cologne Gürzenich Choir to perform Antonín Dvořák’s Stabat Mater at the Cologne Philharmonic. The same piece will be performed with the Haydn Orchestra on June 4, 2025, at the Brixen Cathedral and on June 5 in Trento.
Currently led by conductor and organist Dominik Bernhard, the Südtiroler Vokalensemble’s Christmas concert program this year has been arranged by him.
