The official successors of the world-famous Buena Vista Social Club musician!

Máximo Francisco Repilado Muños, better known as Compay Segundo, was the legendary musician of the Buena Vista Social Club and the composer of the world-famous song “Chan Chan.” Even at the proud age of 94, he could still perform on the world’s biggest stages.

For nearly 20 years, his grandchildren Ernesto, Leonardo, and Alejandro Repilado have honored their grandfather through music. From Compay, they learned how to play the traditional Son authentically.

Compay himself wished for his “poetry set to music” – as he liked to call his compositions – to continue being interpreted in his spirit. So, he personally entrusted Ecos De Siboney to be officially recognized as his successors. (This was even published on a CD track from “Saludo Compay.”)

Thus, the group was formed and quickly became popular. For their albums, Ecos de Siboney has already won the Premio Lucas twice in Cuba and was nominated for the Premio Cubadisco, the Cuban Grammy, in the Traditional Music category. Their video “Me dirás que sabroso” was also awarded in the same category.

The group keeps the traditional Son Cubano alive and has also created their own successful compositions, such as “Tengo un Son,” which are interpreted and played worldwide. This was the idea of their grandfather, Compay Segundo, from the very beginning: “Somos los herederos” (We are your heirs).

In their live performances, they play many compositions by Compay Segundo, such as “Chan Chan,” “Las Flores de la Vida,” “El Camisón de Pepa,” “Orgullecida,” “Macusa,” and “La Guantanamera.” Of course, they also present their own original repertoire.

Entry to the Trauttmansdorff Castle Gardens: from 7:00 PM, with the possibility to visit the Gardens. Parking fees are included in the ticket price. The concerts take place outdoors, in any weather, and seating is not covered. No guaranteed seating. Tickets are non-refundable in case of bad weather. Program changes may occur at short notice.
