Gala concert by the Egerländer Blasmusik

|

About the event

There are many project orchestras, including professional ones. At the international level, however, the ranks are noticeably thinner. The Egerländer Blasmusik Neusiedl am See has been performing on stage for over 30 years. It has an international lineup, with top musicians from Austria, South Tyrol, and Germany. When it comes to line-up and concerts, the musicians led by conductor Elmar Walter and manager Rainer Stiassny know no bounds. Only when it comes to the program are there no compromises: it has to be Bohemian.

With its new program “Böhmischer Traum” (Bohemian Dream), the international wind orchestra “Egerländer Blasmusik Neusiedl am See” will be performing for the fourth time at the Kultursaal in St. Michael / Eppan on February 20, 2025, promising the audience wind music of the highest standard. The EU ensemble was founded in 1994, bringing together enthusiastic musicians from Germany, Austria, and South Tyrol for the first time in Neusiedl am See in Burgenland to cultivate Egerländer brass music and preserve it for posterity. The formation plays in the typical instrumentation that characterizes the sound experience made so famous by Ernst Mosch and his Original Egerländer Musikanten. With the stylistics of the 60s and 70s and the very soul of Egerländer brass music, this ensemble has thrilled numerous audiences in Austria, Germany, South Tyrol, Switzerland, Czechia, and Holland in its concerts to date.

The orchestra is conducted by Upper Bavarian musician Elmar Walter, who was a founding member in the orchestra's early years and has now taken over the musical direction once again. Sonja Vollmuth and Michael Selig / Rainer Stiassny form the vocal duo, accompanying the soulful melodies with the vocal notes requested by the audience.
