Guided hike to the summit of Telfer Weißen (2.588 m)
|
About the event
We take the cable car up above the tree line and enjoy the magnificent view down into the Sterzing Valley. From the mountain station, we hike along a wide, almost flat path, which is ideal for warming up, until we reach the turnoff to the Ochsenscharte (approx. 30 minutes).
From there, we climb a pleasant trail across alpine pastures to the Ochsenscharte (approx. 1 hour). The trail continues first along the wide ridge, then becomes somewhat steeper for about 1.5 hours until we reach the summit of the Telfer Weißen.
At the summit, an impressive and geologically fascinating panoramic view awaits us: glaciers, Dolomite peaks and secluded mountain landscapes – a great place for a summit break.
The way back is the same as the ascent. In good weather and with enough time, there is also a variant via the Ochsen- or Kuhalm – perfect for a stop for coffee and cake.
Key facts about the tour:
• Ascent: 3 hours walking time
• Elevation gain: 740 m
• Distance: round trip, total of 10 km
• Descent: 2 hours walking time
