Hike along the Kaltern High Trail

We travel by bus to the Überetsch area and continue a short distance up the Mendel Pass road to Kalterer Höhe, where our hike begins. The route follows partly a wide forest road and partly an easy footpath, traversing wooded slopes with magnificent views over the Überetsch area, Lakes Kaltern and Montiggl, and the Dolomites. We continue to the Ziegelstadel and then descend to Altenburg.

A lunch break is planned in Altenburg. The return leads through beautiful beech forest to the sports area of Kaltern, where the bus awaits for the journey home.
