Guided Schlern Crossing via the Schlernhaus refuge

A classic crossing of the Schlern high plateau. Wide alpine meadows, distinctive ascents, and long descents characterize this impressive mountain tour.
Tour description:
We start our hike at the cable car station in Compatsch and walk across the Seiser Alm towards the Saltner Hut. From there, we ascend via the Tourist Trail to the Schlern plateau and reach the Schlernhaus, where we stop for lunch. Afterwards, we descend through the Thomastal to the Tschafatsch Saddle and follow the steep trail through the Bärenfalle down to Weißlahnbad.
Walking time: approx. 6.5 hours
Ascent: approx. 800 m
Descent: approx. 1,400 m
Distance: 15 km
Difficulty: technically moderate hike; good basic fitness and sure-footedness required
Refreshment stop: Schlernhaus
