LANA | MUSIC | FESTIVAL 2026 - Border Crossers

A diverse program combines an extraordinary 20th-century work with the vibrant tradition of the Bürgerkapelle Lana.

The Cello Concerto by Friedrich Gulda (1980), written for Heinrich Schiff, is one of the most unconventional works of its kind. It blends classical form with jazz, rock, folk music, and improvisation.

The Bürgerkapelle Lana is a symphonic wind orchestra with around 80 members. A highlight of its activities is the annual spring concert at the Kurhaus in Merano. The ensemble is also strongly committed to youth development. Musical direction is led by conductor Martin Knoll.
