LANA | MUSIC | FESTIVAL 2026 - Korrnrliadr
About the event
The Korrnliadr were written by Luis Stefan Stecher (1937, Laas, Vinschgau). Shortly after the publication of his poetry collection in 1978, Ernst Thoma (1955, Stilfser Brücke, lives in Mals) set many of the texts to music. Since the early 1980s, Martha Rauner has sung the Korrnliadr, and since 1998, Hannes Ortler has also performed them—musically enriched by clarinet, flute, ocarina, klavietta, and vocals.
In 2000, 18 Korrnliadr were released on CD. Luis Stefan Stecher aimed to create folk-song-like poems, which Ernst Thoma then set to music. Pieces such as Unz Wättr isch winti or Mai Maadele mai Tschuurele have long since become folk songs. In the preface, Stecher wrote: “It was important to me to erect a kind of belated monument to them, these freedom-loving outsiders of Alto Adige.”
