Reading in Italian: There's no one in this wood!
|
About the event
Starting from a reading of There’s No One in This Forest!, the author’s unpublished leporello, we enter a forest where a “terrible dragon” is hiding. It is there, yet remains invisible to the eyes of three wandering knights who search for it without ever finding it. Around them, in fact, the forest is full of animals and presences that nonetheless go unnoticed.
Inspired by this story, participants will create a small leporello, drawing their own dragon story under the guidance of the author. The workshop invites personal visual and narrative exploration and concludes with a sharing moment, in which each participant presents their own book to the group.
Born in Italy in 1991 to an American mother and an Italian father, Emma Lidia Squillari grew up surrounded by books, confirming her love of literature from an early age. After attending art high school, she studied illustration at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna. As an author and illustrator, she has published picture books both in Italy and abroad, including Le ridarelle. Un pomeriggio da brivido (Terre di Mezzo, 2025), Was It a Cat I Saw (Amicus Publishing, 2024), I Dispettosi (Terre di Mezzo, 2021), La Baignade (Grasset Jeunesse, 2021), Dans l’Oeuf (Seuil Jeunesse, 2019), and Alle in den Garten (Atlantis Verlag, 2018).
A project in collaboration with the Passirio Club.
On the occasion of the Fairy Tale Festival.
