Riding Tournament Oswald von Wolkenstein

From game to game: Galloping into the Middle Ages is every spring the returning motto in the Dolomites region Seiser Alm. After the start at the Trostburg Castel in Waidbruck/Ponte Gardena the tournament goes on with four stages: at the Kofel/Mount Calvary in Kastelruth takes place the traditional ring jousting. The second game, the labyrinth, is on program at the Matzlbödele in Seis.The third of four stages takes place at the Völser Weiher lake with its gallop. The tournament concludes with the game at Prösels Castle, the ride through posts.

18:00 Start of the village festival in Kastelruth

20:00 Village square Kastelruth: Opening of the village festival with beer tapping ceremony (free beer barrel donated by the Spezialbier Brewery Forst, Algund) and announcement of the starting order

19:00 – 23:00 Village square Kastelruth: Live music with the cover band “Die 2te Chance” – Alpine rock from South Tyrol

20:00 – 01:00 Village square Kastelruth: Party atmosphere with DJ

At the village square

10:00 – 13:00 Morning gathering with “die Stabign” from the Sarntal Valley

14:30 Grand festive parade from Telfen, Hotel Alpenflora to the village center of Kastelruth: featuring 36 participating teams on horseback, brass bands, flag throwers, theatre performers, knights and jesters in traditional costumes, festive floats, horse-drawn carriages with honorary guests, and much more

15:30 Opening ceremonies

18:00 – 23:00 Musical entertainment with the folk music quintet “Junge Helden”

19:30 Horsemen’s mass in the parish church of Kastelruth

20:00 – 01:00 Party with DJ

11:30 – 13:00 Concert by the “Bauernkapelle Oanach” from St. Lorenzen (Pustertal)

17:00 – 19:30 Concert by the brass band “Mùsega Auta Fascia” from Canazei (Fassa Valley)

7:00 am - Start of the "40th Oswald von Wolkenstein Ride" at the medieval Trostburg in Waidbruck

9:30 am - 1st tournament game: "Ringstechen" at the Kofel in Kastelruth

11:00 a.m. - 2nd tournament game: "Labyrinth" at Matzlbödele in Siusi allo Sciliar

12:40 p.m. - 3rd tournament game: "Obstacle gallop" at the Völser Weiher in Völs am Schlern

2:20 p.m. - 4th tournament game: "Tor-Ritt" Heinz "Bummi" Tschugguel at Prösels Castle, followed by the award ceremony and closing party.
