About the event

Stagione Danza 25/26

Is there anything more magical in ballet than the story of the little girl Clara, who on Christmas Eve discovers a wondrous world and love through a gifted toy? *The Nutcracker*, the quintessential childhood fairy tale, has enchanted young and old alike for more than 130 years and has long since become an indispensable part of the pre-Christmas season. Anyone who sees *The Nutcracker* feels like a child again—captivated by the beauty of the story, the magic of anticipation, and Tchaikovsky’s unforgettable music, in which dream and reality, childlike innocence and the quiet stirrings of the heroine’s coming of age merge in the most delicate nuances. Inspired by E. T. A. Hoffmann’s tale *The Nutcracker and the Mouse King*, gently softened in the libretto by Marius Petipa—who, together with Lev Ivanov, also created the choreography—*The Nutcracker* traditionally returns to the stage. Performed by the Russian Classical Ballet, a renowned company, this masterpiece transports not only the characters of the second act into the Land of Sweets, but also the entire audience into a fairy-tale, magical world.
