Screening: "L´nvenzione dei pirati"

Not everyone knows that, once upon a time, the Talvera meadows—the largest, greenest, and most frequented area in Bolzano—did not exist. The riverbed was a wide, rocky wound that divided the two parts of the city. Turning the kingdom of stones into a garden: from this dream of engineer Michele Lettieri, the Talvera meadows were born fifty years ago. They are now the most important place for interethnic socialization for all ages in the capital of South Tyrol. The main architects of this achievement were the students of class IV B of the surveying school, guided by their tenacious teacher Michele Lettieri, and the conscript soldiers of the second engineering regiment, led by then-captain engineer Rolando Ricci. The documentary retraces the difficult journey of this adventure, pursued with moving persistence against the current, overcoming every kind of difficulty.
