From sunny Deutschnofen|Nova Ponente to the Schneiderwiesen
A varied day’s hiking begins with a 9 am journey from Steinegg|Collepietra to Deutschnofen|Nova Ponente – known as the sunniest village in South Tyrol. There, we set off on the European long-distance hiking trail E5, which takes us through fragrant spruce forests and across gently rolling hills.
Passing the farm Wölflhof and the tranquil Tschiggermoos biotope, we reach the farm Nopphof, where it is not just the view that impresses: the farm brews its own beer – and anyone who fancies it can enjoy a cold glass at the beer tap. We continue through the mystical Tot Moos, another protected biotope. Hiking along the Rotwand, we finally reach the Schneiderwiesen inn, where regional delicacies and a well-deserved break await us.
Refreshed, we descend to Kohlern|Colle, where the historic Kohler cable car gently takes us to Bozen|Bolzano. The bus for the return journey is already waiting at the valley station.

Walking time 4 hours – Ascent 390 m – Descent 640 m – Route length 12.5 km
Important information:
-A certain level of basic fitness and sure-footedness are required
-Registration: Required by Tuesday, 4.00 pm at the latest, by telephone on +39 0471 619560 or by email at info@sternendorf.it.
-Meeting point: various bus stops along the route
-Participation is FREE for guests staying at our member establishments in the Eggental valley and for local residents of the Eggental valley with a Locals Card
Otherwise, adults pay €10 and juniors (aged 6 to 13) €5
Guided walks will be cancelled in the event of bad weather. The programme is also subject to change at short notice.
