Merano High Mountain Trail

We take the hiking bus from Steinegg|Collepietra to Naturns|Naturno in the Vinschgau Valley. The Unterstell cable car takes us up to 1,282 metres. After a short uphill hike, we walk along the famous Merano High Mountain Trail No. 24 into the valley towards Katharinaberg. Passing beautiful old farms and very steep meadows, we hike up and down to the Wald farm inn with its wonderful chapel at 1,505 metres. The mother-daughter establishment will serve us home-cooked food, which we order the day before. Well fortified, we hike for another hour and a half to Katharinaberg. There, our hiking bus picks us up and takes us back to Steinegg.



As the hiking trails on this tour often cross steep meadows and slopes, you should have a head for heights.



Walking time 3 hours - Ascent 400 m - Descent 443 m - Tour length 7 km

-A certain level of fitness and sure-footedness are required.

-Meeting point: various bus stops along the route

-Participation is FREE for guests of our member establishments in the Eggental valley and locals from the Eggental valley with a Locals Card.

Otherwise, adults pay €10 and juniors (aged 6 to 13) pay €5.



Guided hikes will be cancelled in case of bad weather. The programme is also subject to change at short notice.
