Following a successful premiere in summer 2025, crime writer Simone Dark continues her successful reading tour „Wine, Berg & Crime“ in July 2026 with stops at seven South Tyrolean wineries and a cozy mountain hut. „The concept of combining delicious South Tyrolean wines with a historic ambiance and readings of exciting regional crime novels has proven successful,“ says the author of three Bolzano crime novels and four cases featuring the South Tyrolean detective duo Magnabosco and Pasqualina.

The reading locations for the „Wine, Berg & Crime“ tour, starting on June 29, 2026 in Kaltern, were carefully selected by the South Tyrol native from some of the most beautiful wineries between the Unterland, Überetsch, Meraner Land, and the Vinschgau. These venues serve delicious homegrown wines during the thrilling and often darkly humorous reading sessions. The tour concludes on July 11 at the scenic Sarner Skihütte, which also plays a significant role in Dark’s crime novel „Teufel, tanz mit mir!“. The readings are interactive: Simone Dark uses voice and dialect to immerse her audience directly into the action—no eye remains dry, and no glass stays empty.

Simone Dark originally comes from Breisach am Rhein. After studying near Mainz, she moved to South Tyrol, where she still lives today. In 2022, she published her first crime novel „Die Taten der Opfer“ with the detectives Magnabosco and Pasqualina at the Bolzano publishing house Edition Raetia. This was followed by the cases „Der König von Tiers“, „Schwöre, dass du schweigst“, and „Teufel, tanz mit mir!“. For fans of the popular ARD Bolzano crime series, Simone Dark has also transformed three screenplays into novels: „Verspieltes Glück“, „Vergeltung“, and „Familienehre“.

During her tour of South Tyrol’s wineries and mountain huts, Simone Dark will read excerpts from her South Tyrolean crime novels „Schwöre, dass du schweigst“ and „Teufel, tanz mit mir!“, as well as from the Bolzano crime novels „Familienehre“ and „Vergeltung“ featuring Capo Commissario Sonja Schwarz—alternating between them so that attendees at different events can experience different stories and taste different wines. The concluding reading at the Sarner Skihütte will feature a pizza tasting at over 1,600 meters above sea level. Dolce vita in the Alps!
