La legenda del Jazz & Fusion americano

Yellowjackets (USA), la più longeva e creativa fusion band della storia, il gruppo più rappresentativo della fusion dagli anni 80 ad oggi. Nati dallo sviluppo della Band del chitarrista Robben Ford, fondata nel 1977, gli Yellowjackets diventarono famosi con la loro musica jazz-funk, un anticipo importante di quello stile electric- fusion che è la fusione di jazz e R&B , ispirato ai Weather Report: le composizioni originali ricordavano Joe Zawinul (a Steinegg Live nel 2002). Due Grammy Awards vinti: nel 1987 come miglior performance strumentale r&b e nel 1989 come miglior performance jazz fusion. 

Il sassofonista Bob Mintzer è membro degli Yellowjackets dal 1990. Con loro ha compiuto diversi tour mondiali e ottenuto ben nove nomination ai Grammy. Mintzer nel corso della sua brillante carriera ha maturato collaborazioni con artisti

del calibro di Tito Puente, Thad Jones, Buddy Rich, Art Blakey, Eumir Deodato, Jaco Pastorius e con numerose big band.
