About Castel Ansitz Steinbock
The essence of true hospitality pervades every corner of the Ansitz Steinbock Manor, where the philosophy of “living the good life” is embraced with heart and soul. Hostess Elisabeth Rabensteiner and her 16-strong team are proud custodians of a centuries-old tradition; the historic 15th-century manor in the village centre of Villandro has been a guest house since 1750, and the sensitive renovations of 2022 have infused the manor with an ambience of exclusive appeal: 12 suites, each individually and uniquely designed, accommodate 2 to 4 people and welcome guests with their sleek elegance, purity of design and top-quality, solid-wood furnishings.
The climatised rooms in the manor and the haybarn all boast magnificent views of the countryside or the village, and are equipped with a private sauna (Finnish or infrared), flatscreen satellite TV and honesty bar. The private bathroom is stocked with Just toiletries, a hairdryer, bathrobe and slippers. Some of the suites feature a spacious loggia and freestanding bathtub. Free Wi-Fi is also available.
The award-winning cuisine is the very heart of the hotel; cosmopolitan in spirit, it is based on the finest of regional ingredients and redefines the borders of culinary excellence. The creations conjured up by head chef Tomek Kinder and his team are served in the Defregger Stube fine-dining restaurant and the Courthouse Stube dining room, where guests can look forward to a 5-course Alpine dinner. Great care is taken to ensure the perfect wine pairing, recommended by experienced sommeliers. Every day, hotel guests are treated to a magnificent breakfast with superb regional products including jams, cheeses, the best of cold cuts and much more in the original wood-panelled Stube dining room.
Weather permitting, lunch, dinner and light meals are served on the garden terrace.
On request, the Ansitz Steinbock Manor offers guided wine-tasting sessions in the 6-metre-deep underground wine cellar, which houses hundreds of labels from select vineyards. The Steinbock is also very much in demand as a venue for parties and celebrations – the family also owns its own mountain hut on the Villandro mountain pasture.
