About Rifugio Comici

The light blue shutters welcome from far away and make tired guests speed up: the Comici haven, on Sassolungo, in Selva di Val Gardena, makes the climbers and food-lovers’ hearts beat faster.
At 2,154 metres above sea level, the Comici haven in Selva di Val Gardena was built in honour of the Alpine legend. Emilio Comici, born in Trieste in 1901 was always fascinated by the enchanting Dolomites. In 1932 he decided to stop living in the city and moved to the Dolomites where he became an Alpine tour-guide. Legendary climbing trails and adventurous summit conquests gave him fame and recognition until his tragic death in 1940 when he fell off a mountain side. He was seen as one of the most elegant climbers of his era. The Comici haven shows all the respect that he earned. Fascination, elegance, style and unquestionable class reflect the climber’s personality. The light blue shutters shine under the rocky mountain sides, delicious and heavenly culinary creations enchant the guests. Full of comfort, style, friendliness and Alpine well-being make the haven a unique place to stop and eat. We’re sure that Emilio Comici would have felt at home here.
Since 1955 Gianni Marzola, who started off the hospitality service and has been helped by his family, offers quality, great tradition, incomparable hospitality and well-earned success. Chosen produce like fish or wine come directly from the Grado agricultural area and the possibility for refined cuisine stun guests every time. These are all exclusive characters of the Comici haven. With energy and ambition, the team will look after you and make you feel at home surrounded by the wonderful countryside and give you a magnificent experience.
