About Schlern Hex

The Restaurant Bar Café Schlernhex is a culinary oasis of South Tyrolean tradition and hospitality.

The restaurant bar café Schlernhex in Castelrotto is well known for its excellent, typical South Tyrolean dishes from the "witch kitchen", its very familiar ambience and the unique panorama of the fantastic sun terrace. Here you will be spoiled with daily varying dishes of the season and can look forward to a fabulous menu with many regional delicacies!

In South Tyrol there is always a reason to celebrate and so the cosy rooms of the restaurant can easily be transformed into a beautifully decorated festive room. With a stylish setting and lovingly decorated tables, you can celebrate your loved ones at family celebrations or birthdays and enjoy the lively company at graduation meetings or company parties. The 55 seats inside the guesthouse and the spacious winter garden are perfect for this and even the large parking lot won't be too crowded.

In the restaurant bar café Schlernhex everyone is well cared for! While the little guests enjoy themselves on the playground or on the well-kept meadow, the adults can relax and inquire about the varied menu. Choose between the traditional South Tyrolean soups as a warming starter, healthy vitality dishes with goat cheese or grilled vegetables for the light hunger or the Tyrolean farmer's menu for the small hunger. Provided you can resist the homemade starters: whether spinach spaetzle, "Schlutzkrapfen", ribbon pasta noodles or potato dumplings, at the Schlernhex everything is prepared in-house and always fresh!

The main courses from "Paula's witch kitchen" are a true taste experience and you can look forward to the heavenly desserts the most: chocolaty nougat pot dumplings, fluffy "Kaiserschmarrn", homemade apple strudel. But nothing beats the South Tyrolean buckwheat cake with cranberries or the refreshing ice cream variations in summer. And all this at an excellent price-performance ratio.Only one question remains unanswered, and the answer is obvious: Where does the traditional South Tyrolean restaurant get this mysterious name from? The Sciliar seems to be within reach in Castelrotto. It has always been surrounded by numerous legends and tales, including the legend of the Sciliar witches. Go on a quest and follow in the footsteps of these fairytale stories!
