At the foot of the Schlern, between Völser Aicha and St. Konstantin, a path connects seven lakes: Salmseiner Weiher, Gflierer Weiher, Völser Weiher, Huber Weiher, Umser Weiher, Oachner Weiher and St. Konstantiner Weiher.
It leads through a varied, impressive nature and past an ancient and unique cultural landscape. In parts, it runs through the Schlern-Rosengarten Nature Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The demanding hike can also be done in sections or in the opposite direction. Various connecting paths are available for entry and exit. The trail leads past farms, villages and through private properties. Some of the 7 nature ponds are privately owned. For the return there are excellent bus connections.
Duration: about 4 hours - 13.2 km.
The 7 ponds trail is not suitable for baby carriages.
Approach
If you start your hike in St. Konstantin:
From Völs am Schlern continue towards Seis/Kastelruth along the main road for 3.3km, then turn left into the narrow Santnerweg where the parking lot is.
If you start your hike in Völser Aicha/Oachner Weiher:
From Völs am Schlern drive in the traffic circle towards Bolzano for 2.2 km, then in the bend turn sharply left into a narrow road with signs "Prösels Castle", there follow the road then for another 2 km. At the junction turn left with the sign "Völser Aicha". The festival ground with parking possibility is after approx. 2,7km.
Parking
Commence your hike in St. Konstantin, where convenient parking facilities are available near the church. Alternatively, if you opt to embark from Völser Aicha, you may park at the festival grounds.
Public transportation
The starting points of the hiking trails are easily accessible via the following public connections: By bus lines 2 & 170 from Völs am Schlern and by bus line 170 from Kastelruth and Seis am Schlern to St. Konstantin. By bus line 176 from Seis am Schlern to Völser Aicha.
