Knottnkino

This movie theatre is located between Avelegno and Verano in the outskirts of Merano. It is free of charge and it is constantly blown with fresh air. The list of shows includes both contemplative and adventure movies and it is always unique.
Back in 2000 the artist from the Renon, Franz Messner, installed a movie system on a rocky hill ("Knottn" in the local language), nature becoming the main actor. The seats, made with steel and chestnut wood, are elegant and resistant to weather agents and they recall old cinema seats. The entire Val d'Adige valley can be admired from this theatre, including the Penegal, the Corno Bianco (White Horn), the Gruppo di Tessa, the Merano valley, the Val Passiria valley and the Dolomites.
