Monument to Sissi
Long strolls, horse riding and trips to the San Pancrazio spa in Val d’Ultimo made the Empresses wellness stays very pleasant. Elisabeth Amalie Eugenie, also known as Sissi, was one of the first pioneers of tourism in Meran. The monument to Sissi is hidden by greenery along the Summer Promenade, next to the post bridge. The statue made out of Lasa marble was created in 1903 by sculptor Klotz. The monument was then donated by the Austro-Hungarian aristocrat Emil Dalmata of Hideghet.
