Gentle hills, sunny meadows, dense forests surround the idyllic village of Truden, while the impressive Trudner Horn watches over in the background.

The picturesque village of Truden with its districts Kaltenbrunn, Mühlen and San Lugano is located in the sunny South Tyrolean lowlands, in the middle of the varied and species-rich nature reserve of the Trudner Horn. Endless seeming dense forests, crystal clear streams and gentle green meadows surround the characteristic huts. The fact that Truden, separated only by the Fiemme valley, is very close to Trentino is clearly noticeable: here pure Italian joie de vivre and traditional rural cosiness meet in idyllic harmony.

Thanks to its unique architecture, the characteristic village centre attracts views from everywhere: idyllic, enchanting mountain huts built in the interplay of solid rock and warm wood. On the village square is the charming church of St. Blasius, built in the 13th century and accompanied by an impressively high church tower. Another highlight is the time-honoured linden tree, which with its strong trunk has provided peace and shade for 600 years

Since Truden is all about untouched nature, the Trudner Horn Nature Park is a popular destination for numerous activities. Due to its southern location, the lowest seated nature park of South Tyrol is one of the most lush and diverse in the region and impresses with its great biodiversity, to which a nature park house has been dedicated. This is housed on 3 floors in an old mill - the Elevator Mill - where interested people can also bake their own bread in the traditional way and thus pass on interesting facts about the local culture.

For those who spend spring and summer in Truden, there are numerous hiking and cycling trails that lead along beautiful meadows covered with countless flowers, into the dense deciduous and coniferous forests and wetlands and swamps. Not far away, at the blue Stramentizzo reservoir lake, which holds back the waters of the Avisio mountain stream and lies right on the border with neighbouring Trentino, you can take a leisurely break and refresh yourself.

Dreamlike white winter landscapes, however, await you with pleasant snowshoe hikes in winter. If you prefer fast skiing and snowboarding, the nearby ski areas of Jochgrimm, Val di Fiemme/Obereggen and the Dolomiti Superski are in the best of hands.
