About Bäuerliches Handwerk - Pardellhof
"Above Naturno, on the Vinschger Sonnenberg, at 670 m above sea level, sits the Pardellhof of the Schnitzer family. Here Walter Schnitzer cultivates around 3 hectares of fruit trees and half a hectare of sloping vineyard. In the forest that belongs to the farm, the creative farmer finds the treasures for his special figures made of old wood. Especially old chestnut and oak wood, which he comes across in the farm's own forest on the Vinschger Sonnenberg, inspires him to new creations. What comes out of it remains his secret until the end: ""I work out what the respective piece offers. The brilliant idea usually comes in the course of the work,"" he explains with a smile on his face. In this way, a wide variety of decorative objects are created that can be combined well with flowers, candles or fruit.
Natural gifts that you don't usually see are exactly his speciality.
For his works of art, a variety of different manual milling machines and brushes are used, with which the farmer works at his workbench or outdoors in front of the house. They are used to sand and clean the wood as well as to bring it into shape. ""The challenge lies in preserving the special character of each piece and bringing out certain forms and patterns in the wood,"" the passionate craftsman sums it up.
More information about the products can be found on the homepage of the Pardellhof or on www.redrooster.it."
