Fountain in the courtyard of the Badhaus
About Fountain in the courtyard of the Badhaus
The fountain, built in 2024 from water-green quartzite and copper – designed by bergmeisterwolf architects – pays homage to the history of this place. In the late Middle Ages, there were three public baths in Brixen. One of them stood here: the “Padehaus am Griezze”, first mentioned in the second half of the 14th century as “Pader zu Griezze” – with sweat baths, tub baths and barber services. Even then, this place was a meeting place for people, a lively space for encounters and exchange.
The materials used for the fountain echo the interior of the hotel bathrooms. The publicly accessible courtyard invites visitors to enjoy some peace and quiet away from the hustle and bustle of the streets, linger over drinks and snacks, or simply fill up their water bottles.
