About Toboggan run Monte Cavallo

The longest sled run in Italy

The ski area of Monte Cavallo (Rosskopf) near Vipiteno awaits its guests with a tobogganing experience in a class of its own. The longest illuminated and snow-covered toboggan run in South Tyrol/Italy with 10 kilometres of continuous slopes ensures lots of fun for young and old. The run starts at the Monte Cavallo valley station with the new 10-person Leitner cable car, which was built just in time for the 2022 winter season. Once you reach the Monte Cavallo summit station at 1,860 metres above sea level, you will descend 900 metres through an impressive forest landscape to the starting point at the valley station in Vipiteno. If you don't bring your own toboggan, you can easily hire one directly from the local ski hire shop.

Those who would like to experience the snow fun on the Monte Cavallo at night should earmark Friday evenings, because then the toboggan run is floodlit until 24:00 and the mountain railway runs from 19:00 to 22:00. A stop at one of the ski huts completes the experience, where families can also replenish their energy reserves with some tasty hut dishes. But not only families and young people appreciate the toboggan run on Monte Cavallo, it is also an ideal destination for company outings or team events.

Good to know: The toboggan run was named the international ADAC test winner run in 2011, making it the best toboggan run in the German-speaking region.
