Santa Cristina has a very lively cultural and associative life, further proof of the fact that the inhabitants of Val Gardena feel particularly engaged in the activities of their land of origin. The local band has existed since 1856, the choir since 1972. Popular music is also kept alive by numerous other music associations. The associations play an important role in the organization of cultural life in Santa Cristina; they organize numerous festivals during the year when locals and holidaymakers have fun together.
