About Via Ferrata Hans Kammerlander

The Hans Kammerlander via ferrata is a demanding route, which is not comparable with any other in the entire Dolomite area. Difficulty ferrata up to E, mostly D and C.
Recently built and opened: the via ferrata Hans Kammerlander. A crisp, bracing, superbly constructed via ferrata with a view that takes your breath away. The via ferrata was named after the alpinist from Ahornach/Acereto.

You can start near the Kleingruberhof in Ahornach/Acereto, the 600 m long route overcomes 300 meters of altitude and requires nerves of steel and a lot of strength - especially in the arms. After a relatively moderate start, the wall becomes extremely steep. There is nothing comparable in the entire Dolomite region, according to Hans Kammerlander, the difficulty levels range up to E, mostly D and C. After about three hours of walking, you get off again near the farm Kofler zwischen Wänden, it is only suitable for experienced climbers, one hundred percent head for heights indispensable.

Tour description:
On a short ladder up to an overhang (E), then a traverse B/C and C to the Burmabridge (A/B). After the bridge, continue (B) to a small alcove and then steeply (D) to a scales and right into the Narrow Gully (D/E). The dihedral widens (D) and leads to the 15m ladder (inside B/C; outside C). After the ladder a left loop (D and briefly E) over the roof and right ascending (D and C) into easier terrain (B/B). Then it goes around a ledge and begins the long, ascending traverse (always B, B/C and also briefly C) over to the next overhang. Shortly before, the wall becomes steeper (C/D) and you reach the tree trunk on which you traverse to the roof edge. Then briefly D and easier to the rope bridge. Cross this bridge and then traverse horizontally (B). The rope becomes steeper (C and C/D) and leads up under the next bridge, which is reached in a left loop (B). After the second bridge a slab pillar (to C) leads up to the exit at a wooden fence.
