About Visitor center of the Merano Tourist Office
The Tourist Information Center should be a visitor's first stop when arriving in town. It caters for visitor's needs in two ways: by sending them information before their stay in Merano/Meran, and by providing assistance to them during their vacation. The services the Tourist Information Center performs include accommodation bookings, the provision of a wide range of printed materials (e.g. brochures, leaflets, flyers) and the sale of advantage cards for the public transport system. Moreover, the Tourist Information Center receives and investigates complaints filed by tourists. It supports the local accommodation sector by making free promotional materials available to the member hotels of the Merano Tourist Office and by informing their owners about important events via a weekly newsletter dispatch.
Approach
Bicycle parking spaces are located in Freiheitsstraße at the junction with Sparkassenstraße and in Galileistraße in front of the town hall. Take care not to park bicycles and e-rollers carelessly. They can pose a danger to blind and visually impaired people as they create obstacles to safely walking along paths and finding entrances. People in wheelchairs and parents with pushchairs can also be hindered by carelessly parked bicycles. Please use the bicycle parking spaces provided.
Parking
There are reserved parking spaces for people with disabilities in Galileistraße. Please note that this is a traffic-calmed zone. Entry to this zone is only permitted if you have deposited your disabled parking permit and your car's licence plate number with the local council Gemeinde Meran in advance.
Public transportation
From the train station, the most convenient option is to board one of the city lines (1 or 4) to reach the "Meran, Theaterplatz" stop, followed by a 5-minute walk.
