Burgstall Knottnkino (Vöran) - Description
Tschögglberg Hiking Area
The Tschögglberg is the mountain ridge of the Sarntal Alps from which there are wonderful views of Lana. The Salten plateau is situated on this imposing mountain range.
The Salten is distinguished by its relatively flat hiking trails, which invite visitors to enjoy leisurely walks in the broad meadows and forests of the plateau. A hike through the largest larch meadow in Europe also offers a wonderful insight into the legend-shrouded world of South Tyrol.
On the side of the path hikers and bikers can learn about the mystical figures that lived on the Salten plateau according to ancient tales.
Thanks to its location, the Tschögglberg offers a fantastic view of the Dolomites, the Etschtal Valley and Lake Kalterersee. The lovely hiking area can also be reached without a car. Cable cars run up to the Tschögglberg from the villages of Vilpiano and Postal. The wonderful hiking trails onto the plateau start from the mountain stations.
The Tschögglberg is the perfect destination for leisurely walks, moderately difficult hikes and wonderful mountain bike rides with fantastic panoramic views. With the countless places to stop for refreshment, there is also plenty to tickle the taste buds.
