Circular hike north from St. Andrä to St. Leonhard - Description
Directions
-
Start
St. Andrä
The hike starts in St. Andrä (960 m) above Brixen/Bressanone on a solitary road towards St. Leonhard. Take a left turn and follow the neat field track, the Kreuzweg Trail, along trail no. 6 from Karnol to Oberkarnol. The steep, narrow path leads up to the St. Johann in Karnol Church. First mentioned in the records as far back as 1133, the small church on the panoramic hill was rebuilt several times. Follow the path via Burgstall to St. Leonhard. The return from St. Leonhard is along trail no. 12 south, past a cluster of houses at Kampill (1,056 m) then through the forest, past a sports area and back to the starting point in St. Andrä. -
