Start
Klerant
This relaxing yet rewarding hike starts in Klerant, a village on the sunny slopes of the Plose. The trail runs through the neat mountain farms with constant breath-taking views of the Brixen/Bressanone basin, the center Eisacktal Valley and the Pfeffersberg mountain on the opposite side of the valley. From Klerant, follow trail no. 12 to Mellaun/Melluno along the dirt track. In the fields around the small Gothic Church of St. John in Mellaun, the track continues to St. Andrä (960 m), the highest point of the circular hike. The sun-drenched village of St. Andrä beneath the Plose offers wonderful views of the surrounding mountains. Continue southwest further downhill along trail no. 18 and follow the Höfestraße farm road to Obermellaun/Melluno di Sopra, past picturesque meadows up to the Frötscher organic farm. Bear right and take the farm track through a wooded area downhill to Klerant and back to the starting point. -
