  From the Gostnerhof inn (1,402m; refreshments served), trail no. 2 leads west along a forest path in the mountain valley to the Steinwiesalm alpine pasture (1,537m). Ascend up a steep path through a forest clearing to the Zirmaitalm hut (1,891m; refreshments served). Follow trail no. 2 as it arches its way through a pine forest, turning left past rhododendron bushes before meandering south to a protruding mountain ridge (2,080m; indications). Continue to the right along trail no. 2 through the grassy field up a rocky outcrop ​​along the gentle slope (eastern crest) to the Karspitze (2,517m). Return down the same route.
