Hiking across the broad mountain meadows with magnificent panoramas.

    Start the hike at the Schwaiger Böden parking area (1,720 m) in Lüsen/Luson. Follow trail no. 2  along a wide mountain pasture track up a moderate incline to Geneider Alm mountain hut (1,947 m). Then ascend further north to the Jakobsstöckl (2,026 m), where there’s a small chapel with a cross looking out onto a magnificent panorama.
    From Jakobsstöckl, turn left to the north along trail no. 10 past the Grünfelder Alm mountain hut (2,119 m) and on to the summit of the Gampill (2,190 m). From there, admire the views of Bruneck/Brunico as well as the Tauferer Ahrntal Valley, the Zillertaler Alps and Rieserferner Group.
    From this highest point of the hike, head north along trail no. 10 until there’s a turning to the left onto trail no. 12/A followed by no. 12 leading to the Kreuzwiesenalm mountain hut (1,924 m). After a longer break, continue along an almost flat track (Schmalzensteig) through the forest and across the meadow on trail no. 2 back to the starting point at the Schwaiger Böden.
