A way up to the precious peat bog of the lake Lac del Vedes, a natural place of impressing beauty and rarity.
This itinerary takes to the big hill Dossone di Cembra, where you can find some of the most beautiful and precious peat bogs of Trentino area. They are ancient glacier lakes where, after a natural process, thick peat layers produced by the water plants over the millennia gathered together. The peat bog vegetation is composed by unique moss types and rare marsh plants.
The lake Lac del Vedes in Grumes is certainly one of the most beautiful and better conserved peat bogs of the all Trentino area. The guided tour with wooden platforms and information panels describes the local rarities and the origin of the peat bog.

    Masi di Grumes - Località Pradet

    The starting point of this itinerary is the place named Pradet at the high farms Masi Alti di Grumes (Altavalle town area). There you can find a forecourt to park the car. To reach the lake Lac del Vedes follow path SAT n. 480 to the pass Passo della Cima. From the pass follow the road signs to the lake Lac del Vedes, which can be reached in around 50 minutes walk from there. For the way back you can choose either to go on the same way or to have a longer walk through the place called Valdonega, then on Sentiero Europeo E5 (European path E5) to the mountain hut Potzmauer and then again on path SAT 480 back to the place named Pradet.

After the entrance of the town at the traffic light turn left and follow the road signs to the mountain farms Masi di Grumes and then Masi Alti. After the farm Maso Giovanni you will find a parking place. To drive here from the valley Val di Fiemme, you need to follow the main road S.S. 612 south to Grumes. After the entrance of the town at the traffic light turn right and follow the road signs to the mountain farms Masi di Grumes and then Masi Alti.
