This hike leads through forest and meadows to the most famous pilgrimage site in South Tyrol, the Maria Weißenstein monastery, which is well worth a visit. Numerous votive tablets demonstrate how, for centuries, the devout sought refuge and mercy from the mother of god in times of worry or distress.

Take highway's exit “Bolzano Nord/Eggental”, turn right direction Bolzano/Bozen, after about 0,5 km on roundabout keep left and head towards Val d’Ega (SS 241). Keep driving up to Ponte Nova. At Ponte Nova’s crossroads, turn to the right and continue to Nova Ponente, at the roundabout, take the fourth exit and continue to the car park at the Bar Arche. (about 30 min. from highway toll booth).With the public bus line 181 or 184; bus stop: Bar Luise; online bus timetables: www.suedtirolmobil.info/en/Parking Bar Arche.
