Hike to Colle di Bolzano/Kohlern and Bolzano/Bozen - Description

The [E5] trail is the European long-distance hiking trail that leads from Constance over the Alps to Venice. By taking this route, the hiker can experience a small section of this trail. The hikers walk through the typical woods of the high plateau of Nova Ponente/Deutschnofen and Kohlern/Colle. At Rotstein and Rotwand, two panoramic outlook ponts, an overwhelming glance over the Überetsch/Oltradige, Unterland/Bassa Atesina and Etschtal/Val d'Adige is guaranteed.

Take highway´s exit “Bolzano Nord/Eggental”, turn right direction Bolzano/Bozen, after about 0,5 km on roundabout keep left and head towards Val d’Ega (SS 241). Keep driving up to Ponte Nova. At Ponte Nova’s crossroads, turn to the right and continue to Nova Ponente (about 30 min. from highway toll booth). In the centre of Nova Ponente there is free parking directly at Piazza Gibitz, where the hike starts.With the public bus line 181 or 184; bus stop: Nova Ponente chiesa/church; online bus timetables: www.suedtirolmobil.info/en/
