Hike to the Digging Gallery in Tiso|Teis - Description

A themed walk to the “Teiser Kuglen” minerals discovery site, quarry in an ancient volcanic cone, with lots of botanical and geological information. A Teiser Kugelen digging gallery, “humming stones” and “ringing stones”, invite you to spend some time and experiment. In Tiso, there is also an interesting mineral museum that is worth seeing (visiting times).

    In the village center of Tiso (963m) crossing over Vereinshausplatz square, passing water fountains of granite, dry-stone walls and the the church, on the mountain-side with interesting geological breakdowns and information boards on geology and botanics, the almost flat trail no. 11 leads eastward to ”Lahne“, a mineral discovery site (also called Gostner Graben ditch), and to a resting place with views over the village. Return by the same route.
